You get what you need

After we’d decided to give up on what we’d thought had been the perfect modern apartment in Tempio Pausania, we dove right back in to the property websites, scouring the entirety of Sardinia for another suitable place. Only problem was, we were no longer *in* Sardinia, and therefore would be doing so from afar. Daunting, you say? Absolutely. But also, somehow it doesn’t quite seem as real, more like a board game? 🤷‍♀️ 🤣

Initially, we remained focused on Tempio Pausania as we’d been there, walked the streets and knew that we liked it and could feel comfortable there. But one morning Bill came across another town, near the southeast coast, and after google walking the town, and noting it not only had all of our checklist amenities (multiple grocery stores, multiple restaurants, gym with indoor pool and a year round community) but was also just a few kilometers to the stunning cerulean waters of the Mediterranean! The game was (once again!) afoot!

Yes, there were negotiations and questions about permits and furnishings but soooo much more easily handled and so much less of an underlying passive-aggressive seasoning to the negotiating stew.

So here we are, close to 6 months after our initial visit to Sardinia, and after numerous emails and negotiations, readying to embark on a multi-stop journey towards Rome to sign papers at the closing and get the keys to our new place! A new place we’ve never actually seen in a town we’ve never been to I might add! Molto pazzo, no? 🤪
